Accessed by a 2-mile drive, they are set on a working farm where sheep and cattle graze (farm machinery – children must be supervised) within the glorious North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Baysdale Abbey has been furnished and equipped to a very good standard. All rooms are spacious, light and airy with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Original wooden floors on the ground level blend with shuttered windows, cornices add decorative touches and open fires in the reception rooms provide a welcoming atmosphere. A large natural garden surrounds the house and is edged by a fenced beck, providing a good habitat for an array of wildlife. Dating back to the 1800s, the other three holiday properties offer character accommodation in a tranquil and idyllic location. Vaulted beamed ceilings and wood-burning stoves add to the charm and character providing a welcoming atmosphere. Offering 3 miles of sandy beaches is the historic port of Whitby with its picturesque harbour and cobbled streets. Here you can board the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Train (Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films) and take a memorable journey through the stunning Esk Valley. Castle Howard, Nunnington Hall, Duncombe Park and Rievaulx Abbey are just a few of the treasures awaiting discovery. The coastal villages of Staithes, Runswick Bay and Sandsend all lie within 23 miles. This is an ideal holiday location at any time of the year. Shop 3 miles, pub 6 miles and restaurant 8 miles.

We have just had an amazing break, the house is ideal for a big family gathering. Lots of room and bathrooms, fabulous surrounding grounds.Just a few little things that need attention, lightbulbs were out in a few rooms, the mattress in the bottom double bedroom's springs were sticking in our backs and the water pressure is not existent in some rooms and in some cases water wasnt even coming out of the taps. All of this is easily solvable. So just a little TLC andIt would be perfect. Would still definitely stay again with these things taken care of

An amazing old house, with huge rooms and tonnes of space. Very rural and quiet location at the end of a two mile driveway. Very friendly housekeeper who was more than happy to help.

What a fantastic place, historical, beautiful, scenic and absolutely huge! 17 of us for a Christmas get together, the house was beautifully decorated for Christmas, clean, classy and very comfortable, 4 large sofas, lovely touch with kids toys for the little ones and a beer fridge in the living room. Dining table fitted us all easily. Kitchen very well equiped and huge, 2 cookers, 2 dishwashers, large double fridge plus freezer in the massive utility area, great for storing unused bags, dog stuff, recycling and mucky boots for the gorgeous walks on the doorstep. The drive in is well signed although long, just prepare for a gorgeous view from the top of the hill before diving down to the property. Massive shout out to Ali who came and checked we had everything we needed and was such a help during our stay. Had the fire lit the whole time, generous amount of logs provided. This place is the perfect place for a get together - will be back! Thank you all x
