About this property

This contemporary townhouse sits in a great position, less than a mile from the beach, in the ever-popular town of Whitby, North Yorkshire.

Set over three floors with a patio, Aurora welcomes families for an immaculate stay, whatever time of year.

Upon arrival, leave your car behind in the off-road parking space and head through the front door into your new home-from-home.

On the ground-floor there is the first bedroom, complete with a double bed, serviced by a cloakroom, whilst there is also a handy utility room with washer/dryer.

Move up to the first floor, home to the well-equipped kitchen housing all the essentials for home-cooking, including an electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher.

A long dining bench stands in the centre of the room, providing a great spot to enjoy family mealtimes before heading to the lounge and collapsing on the dark green velvet sofas.

There is also a bathroom on this level, where you can freshen up with a bath or shower over before going about your day. Continue to the second-floor to find the remaining bedrooms, offering a king-size with en-suite shower, and two single rooms each neutrally presented.

Head outside and spend a moment in the patio area, complete with furniture set for alfresco dining. Set out for the day and explore your local surroundings; head out to Whitby’s soft sands, visit the Whitby and Captain Cook Museum or sample local beers at Whitby Brewery.

Why not treat the group to a meal out at one of the well-established restaurants, followed by a live performance at the Whitby Pavilion, complemented with sea views? Wildlife enthusiasts should take the chance at whale watching, whilst those keen historians will appreciate a visit to the gothic Whitby Abbey.

There’s plenty to fill your holiday agenda whilst staying at Aurora.

At the mouth of the River Esk in North Yorkshire's Scarborough region sits the seaside town and port of Whitby. The area is perfectly positioned for visiting this stunning region of Yorkshire, and it offers a wide range of activities so you can make the most of both the countryside and the seaside. There is something for everyone in this area, from the adjacent North York Moors to its Blue Flag beaches. Among its many attractions, Whitby has a beautiful ambience with meandering streets and obscure alleys that are home to a variety of restaurants and businesses. Visit the charming harbour and lighthouse to watch the sun go down, or go whale watching or on a coastal cruise to see the wildlife up close. To immerse yourself in history, ascend the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey or go to the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, which features a historical and anthropological display about Cook himself. Whitby is a fantastic location for discovering all that Yorkshire has to offer. It is close to Robin Hood's Bay, rich in history, wonders, and scenic areas, and is easily accessible from the thriving towns of Scarborough and Middlesbrough.

We enjoyed our walk to and from the house each day. Lovely decor. My daughter would love to know the colour/make of the wall paint as she has just had a similar kitchen fitted while we were away

Perfect location for walking into Whitby and the area was nice and quiet. The property is spread over 3 levels so there are a lot of stairs. I would highly recommend to the owners to provide stair gates, as my 11 month old would take every opportunity he could to get to the stairs. Luckily, there were doors to every room, so we kept these shut at all times. Lovley large kitchen with everything you could need, with plenty of seating for all guests. We didn't use the outdoor seating area due to the time of year but I imagine it would be very nice in the summer. Private parking for 2 cars right outside the property was a real bonus. The welcome pack was a lovely gesture, thank you. Overall, I cannot fault the property, we will definitely return in the near future.
