Guests say

Abbey View Cottage at Broadings Farm is a well-received holiday rental in Whitby, praised for its modern amenities, comfortable furnishings, and pet-friendly environment. Guests appreciate the quality bed linen, towels, and the enclosed space for dogs. The location offers stunning views and is convenient for exploring local attractions. Some minor issues were noted regarding cleanliness and road noise, but overall, guests report a pleasant stay and many express a desire to return.

Most guests found the cottage to be clean and well-maintained, though there were a few mentions of areas that could have been cleaned better, such as under the bed and dining chairs. The presence of dog hair and a report of a broken wardrobe drawer suggest room for improvement in cleaning thoroughness and maintenance.

The cottage's location is generally appreciated for its proximity to Whitby and dog-friendly beaches, with beautiful views and country walks. However, some guests noted the proximity to a busy road, which affected their experience due to noise.

Guests frequently commented on the comfortable beds and underfloor heating, creating a cosy atmosphere. The presence of en-suite facilities in both bedrooms was also a highlight. A few guests mentioned issues with heating control, but these were not widespread concerns.

The cottage is praised for its modern appliances and well-equipped kitchen, though some guests felt that additional crockery and cutlery would be beneficial. There were also comments about the need for outdoor seating and minor maintenance issues like a washing machine that moved on spin and a broken wardrobe drawer.

While many guests were pleased with the overall experience, there were no specific mentions of gifts or extra thoughtful touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness category based on the reviews provided.

Easy to find on the main road into Whitby. Easy access to Whitby (Park and Ride not open when we stayed, but that's just up the road too.). Sainsbury's within 10 min drive. Underfloor heating kept the whole cottage warm throughout the stay. Tiny bit of feedback would be we found we ran out of mugs and glasses quickly, four more of each would be very helpful. Also a secind bedside table,, especially in the double room would be great - but these are tiny comments an didn't detract from a lovely stay in a great cottage.

Mainly really clean but it does need a good cobwebbing, high ceilings. Could see lots of cobwebs and on the light fittings. Only 5 minutes drive into Whitby, even on a main road we all slept well. We did get slugs in the building after heavy rain, they came through the bottom of the door. Very unpleasant, luckily my dogs didn’t eat them! We had to put the dishwasher on twice per day due not being enough crockery and glasses, would have been nice to have extra to save wasting electricity.

We'll equipped, nice to have a washing machine for mid week laundry. Beds are so comfortable and the showers are the best.
