There are a few restaurants and shops within a mile of the property, while the beach at Filey Bay, voted the UK’s Best Beach in 2018, offers a 5-mile stretch of sand that stretches as far as Filey Brigg, a long and narrow peninsula on the cliffside and a site of Special Scientific Interest. Enjoy a stroll around the scenic Filey Brigg Country Park, partake in a round of golf at Filey Golf Club and spend an afternoon exploring the Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park. A few miles down the coast brings you to the Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast, a rugged peninsula with sweeping sea views, white cliffs and a charming 17th century lighthouse, as well as the RSPB Bempton Cliffs Seabird Centre, a nature reserve where you can enjoy birdwatching and walking a variety of scenic nature trails. Head north up the coast to the popular seaside resort of Scarborough, with its two sandy beaches, separated by its imposing 12th century castle on the headland, as well as the North Bay Heritage Railway, a museum, Alpamare UK water park, SEA Life Centre and the Japanese-inspired, tranquil gardens of Peasholm Park.
