This was a wonderful getaway and we had a great time staying here. The cottage is well kept and beautiful with all these necessary amenities we needed and comfortable beds to stay in. We had the means to make a wonderful meal, have a glass of wine and relax in front of the log fire with the dogs. The local area is lovely, there are plenty of nice walks and the local pub, the coach house inn did a wonderful Sunday lunch and the staff were very friendly.Overall we enjoyed this place immensely and we hope to come back soon.

We have just returned from spending a week in Crown Gardens and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is warm, spacious and very comfortable. We loved the East-facing views from the back of the house, which means that the living room, with it's large patio doors is really bright and sunny. The back garden is a lovely, private outdoor space and if you bring some birdseed, you will be rewarded with a whole variety of small feathered visitors. The village of Rosedale Abbey is small and pretty and we found people friendly. There are numerous local walks. We wouldn't hesitate to return to Crown Gardens.

The cottage itself is beautiful and the views from the patio windows are fantastic. It's general cleaning issues and some safety concerns that is the issue. A previous review stated about the kettle lid being stuck I thought no worries this has surely now been replaced- it has not and the handle itself is loose making it dangerous. The fridge was broken and all food was frozen not chilled. We came back from a day out planning to eat at the cottage we couldn't as food was frozen. This resulted in the need to drive an hour round trip to nearest takeaway along roads I would not choose to drive along in the dark. The village is beautiful and the food at the Coach House is lovely. The decor in the cottage is lovely but clumps of dog hair on rugs , dirty trays in oven and a rusted pan in the cupboard didn't make for relaxed kitchen experience. Frozen milk every morning was not great either. The chairs in the dining room were so heavy and uncomfortable and we all hurt our legs when hitting them off the metal edges when trying to get out of the heavy structures. We had my dad with dementia and trying to navigate him in and out of these chairs was challenging. If a deep clean was done ( the seats outside were covered in dirt and table covered too), new fridge, kettle and dining set this cottage would be perfect. The bedding and towels were very clean it was just floors, mats and kitchen equipment that were grubby. Also the fish and chip van no longer comes on a Friday we we thankfully checked and booked into Coach House on Friday evening otherwise we would have had a late night drive back out for food again.
