Specially designed for two adults and two children, this unique retreat is located on a 60-acre, wooded estate on the edge of the North York Moors. It’s just 1 mile away from both the picturesque village of Thornton-le-Dale and the vibrant market town of Pickering, both worth exploring for their scenic charm and selection of interesting shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Pickering is also home to a 1930s-style railway station, from which heritage trains chug through the scenic moorland countryside all the way to Whitby (21 miles by car). Alternatively, the seaside resorts of Scarborough and Filey are both within 20.5 miles. Little ones will enjoy a day out at Flamingo Land, 5 miles, while Castle Howard, 14 miles, has a superb adventure playground. For walking, biking and outdoor adventures, including Go Ape, Dalby Forest is 4.5 miles away.

Cleverly designed to make the most of its curvy shape, the pod has an open-plan layout that includes the lounge, kitchen, dining and sleeping areas. Step through the circular doors to find a squashy sofa facing a Smart TV, offering a choice of entertainment from family movies to must-see box sets. For rustling up hearty breakfasts and delicious suppers, you can cook a fry-up on the two-ring gas hob or get creative with the microwave. The compact kitchen also includes a sink, fridge and storage cupboards. At mealtimes, simply unfold the dining table and four chairs for a sociable get-together, enjoying the pretty views of trees and greenery outside. The king-size bed nestles in the corner of the room, and the bespoke bunk beds are at the back – all with pocket-sprung Hypnos mattress for the ultimate in luxury. For clothes storage, there’s a full-length wardrobe, while clever wall niches offer extra space as well as sockets and USB ports. Completing this cute interior is a sleek shower room, wet-room style, with hot and cold running water and a proper flushing WC.

Gather outside for fun in the fresh air, enjoying drinks and meals on your private deck, which boasts a charcoal BBQ. Adding to the convenience of this fabulous getaway is a free, private space for one car in a centralised parking area close to your pod, with parking for loading and unloading allowed immediately outside.
