Head to the chocolate-box village of Thornton-le-Dale, 1 mile away, or to the popular market town of Pickering, also 1 mile away, to stroll around boutique shops and discover lovely places to eat and drink. From Pickering, a heritage railway steams through the moors to Whitby (21 miles), or venture to Scarborough, 17 miles away, or Filey, renowned for its long stretch of golden sand, is 20.5 miles from home. Dalby Forest (4.5 miles) is a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers and lovers of outdoor adventures in general, while history buffs will love Castle Howard, 14 miles away, one of the grandest estates in Britain. The historic city of York is also reachable in 27 miles.

Push open the circular doors and enter your specially designed pod, which is full of space-saving touches such as a pull-down dining table and niches with USB ports. In the open-plan living space, you’ll have a comfortable sofa and a Smart TV – ideal for streaming your favourite movies as you relax after a day outdoors. The cleverly designed kitchen area includes a two-ring gas hob, fridge and microwave, and there’s enough worktop and storage space to make preparing holiday meals and snacks quick and easy. In the far corner, a cosy double bed, with a porthole window above and a niche in the wall for storing your stuff, offers the chance of a great night’s sleep, aided by a pocket-sprung Hypnos mattress. There’s ample clothes storage, too. Finally, open the mirrored door and you’ll reveal a compact, wet-room-style shower room with both hot and cold water, and a flushing WC.

When you want to sip a coffee, enjoy a sundowner, or fire up the BBQ and grill some tasty treats, simply step out onto your private deck: the perfect spot for enjoying some fresh Yorkshire air. Parking for one car is provided in a shared car park nearby, while for packing and unpacking, it’s possible to park right outside.
