The location is praised for its convenience for walking and exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Some guests mention thoughtful touches like provided dairy products.

The cottage is described as cosy and warm, with a comfortable bed and good heating. Some guests note low headroom in the sleeping area and a need for better quality bedding, which slightly detracts from the overall comfort.

On the positive side it was very warm and the central heating worked well. It was very dark inside though, and not light enough downstairs to comfortably read a book. After complaining one of the staff the pub kindly leant us a reading light, which solved the problem. There was no instruction book for guests. The Wi-fi code was written on the back of the key fob but we weren't told that initially. We never really understood how the recycling worked. There was no sign of any firewood for the fire, but the cottage was so warm that we never needed to request it. The bed was comfortable but there is very limited headroom on getting out of one side of the bed. the bath/shower drained very slowly. The noise from the pub machinery is pretty loud in the garden, but is audible at a low level inside the cottage, both day and night despite what the descriptions say.

A perfect week for myself, my wife & ACE the dog thing. No complaining or nit-picking required as we've stayed in plenty for old cottages like this. Thank you so much. xxx

Comfortable, warm and well appointed with the added charm of being in the grounds of the Old Hall Inn, where Dan and his friendly team give you a warm welcome, good food and a great range of cask ales. The surrounding countryside is stunning. A hidden jewel in a crown of beauty.
