About this property

Proudly positioned in the centre of Bridlington, you will find Wellington House. Home to eight bedrooms spread across three floors, this grand holiday home presents guests with the ultimate base for a large group or family getaway to the East Riding of Yorkshire. Entertain your friends and family with evenings spent snuggled in the sitting room or delighting in a delicious meal in the dining room that has been lovingly prepared in the well-equipped kitchen, while the woodburning stove roars. Continue through the ground floor and discover a handy bathroom and a well-appointed twin room, complete with its very own en-suite shower room. Up on the first floor, guests will find a further four bedrooms comprising two king-size bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, an additional double and a single, along with a sophisticated shower room. A second staircase will lead you up to the second floor, home to a double bedroom with its own en-suite shower room, a twin room and a super king-size room with zip/link. Finishing off the interior of the property is a handy second-floor cloakroom, perfect for freshening up at the end of the evening and a separate snug with its own TV and games console. Outside, guests can enjoy many warm summer nights with drinks on the patio, or a dip in the indulgent bubbling 6-seater hot tub, whilst their four-legged friends play happily on the lawn. Make the most of your time by the coast with days spent exploring local landmarks and attractions such as The Bayle and Harbour Heritage Museums. Wander the grounds of Sewerby Gardens and Hall, before heading to the soft sandy shores of Bridlington Beach, which are just moments away, where you can soak up the sunshine or indulge in a tasty portion of fish and chips! Embark on an exhilarating hike along the Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast towards the town of Filey and discover Danes Dyke Beach, the Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park and New Flamborough Lighthouse. Upon return to your cottage, be sure to stop off at the local supermarket for some tasty ingredients or enjoy a hearty meal down at the local pub with a refreshing glass of wine or a frothy pint. However, you choose to spend your days, be sure to book a stay at Wellington House.

South of Scarborough and north of Filey, on the east coast of Yorkshire, is the popular seaside resort of Bridlington. Located on either side of the ancient harbour, these two beaches are renowned for their fine golden sand and thriving tourist industry. Elegantly planned promenades include attractions ranging from carnivals to secluded benches from which to observe the world go by. Bridlington's shops, attractions, restaurants, and historic "Old Town" give an interesting contrast to beach life, where the newest Dad's Army has been filmed, and the Bridlington Spa Theatre on the front provides nighttime entertainment. The East Riding Leisure Centre provides both a swimming pool and a wide range of additional indoor activities, perfect for the whole family. Nearby are the popular tourist destinations of Filey, Scarborough, and Whitby, as well as the stunning Heritage Coast. The rspb bird sanctuary in Bempton, Sewerby Hall, Danes Dyke, and Flamborough Head with its cliffs and caves are just a few of the many attractions in the region. Excellent for sightseeing or for those who enjoy watching birds.

The owner bent over backwards to make our holiday work after our original booking was cancelled by Sykes an hour before we were due to arrive. We found every thing we needed in the kitchen and the ladies loved the hot tub which was very clean and well maintained. The house is very near a good shopping street which provided everything we ran out of or needed.

The kitchen is great - huge indoor and outdoor dining tables and great facilities for kids and adults.
