About this property

The Old Vicarage is an impressive detached property with lots of space, including four reception rooms. Set in a large, lawned garden, the property is in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors on the edge of the beautiful village of Rosedale Abbey.

The North Yorkshire Moors is one of the most beautiful unspoilt stretches of the country, and a holiday in The Old Vicarage puts you at the heart of this unique landscape. There are superb walks right from the doorstep and stunning views from every window. Accommodation ranges over three floors, with six of the large bedrooms boasting their own en-suites.

Built in the 1880s when the village was part of a flourishing iron mine community, the property has been recently and lovingly renovated. Many period features remain - the original large sash windows, original doors and tall ceilings that create a real feeling of space, the original features have been beautifully complemented with the addition of an orangery extension which makes the most of the wonderful views from the elevated position at the edge of the village.

Outside, there are two acres of gardens with a large decked area that’s ideal for dining al fresco. If you’re coming away as a large group of friends or family, The Old Vicarage gives you all the room and luxury you need to make it a special time away.

The Old Vicarage at Rosedale Abbey is a fabulous property, very clean and well equipped. It was great having two fridges and two dishwashers. There are plenty of rooms for several generations within the family if needing their own space. The garden is massive, fabulous and very dog friendly. The Orangery was well used. Beds were extremely confortable. There was plenty of parking space for several cars. Whilst we were there the weather was excellent and we were able to fully utilise the garden – there was plenty of space for all to eat outside and we made good use of the BBQ. The kids enjoyed the table tennis in the games room. The location is great for visiting all local holiday attractions including Flamingo Land for the kids. Good walks straight from the door. We had a nice meal in the village pub, The Coach House Inn, which had veggie options. Spectacular welcome pack. We definitely plan to go again and don't hesitate in recommending the property.
