Bluebell Apartment is located in a peaceful part of Bridlington, only a short walk from the bustling centre, and 2 minutes from the spa which hosts live music events and shows all year round. Access to the apartment is on a peaceful back road with a small enclosed outdoor seating area, which is shared with the neighbouring Buttercup Apartment. Stairs lead up to a private second floor entrance, and the hallway branches off to all of the rooms. The living/dining area has a sofa in front of the Smart TV, where you can unwind in the evening, as well as a dining table where you can enjoy a home cooked meal or takeaway, including traditional fish and chips. The separate kitchen is modern and compact. The bedroom boasts a kingsize bed with an en-suite walk-in shower.
Bridlington is an historic coastal town and has been a popular tourist destination for generations. The beaches are glorious, both are big with golden sand stretching for miles. The north Bay is quieter, whereas the south bay boasts an array of attractions including the promenade, arcades and many bars, cafés and restaurants.
Nearby you can explore more of the incredible coastline including Flamborough, with its dramatic white cliffs, as well as an iconic lighthouse. Bempton, which attracts thousands of sea birds each year, has become a nature reserve where you can see nesting puffins and gannets, as well as the occasional seal in the sea below. The glorious golden beach at Filey stretches for over 5 miles, which is a joy to visit. In Scarborough, apart from beaches, you can find an open-air theatre, the Sea Life Centre and the oriental gardens with paddle boats at Peasholm Park, as well as Alpamare Water Park and Spa.
History lovers can visit the nearby stately homes of Sewerby Hall and gardens, Burton Agnes and Castle Howard. For a day out, the medieval walled city of York is only an hour away with its charming, cobbled streets and a fascinating history. This is a great destination throughout all of the seasons. I've been having an internal battle about this review! The apartment is lovely, cannot fault it and is immaculate! it has everything you would need. It's a short walk to the harbour / beach and local amenities for days! The host was wonderful and really eased my anxiousness and explained exactly how to locate the apartment, and came to help when I couldnt get the key out.So the bad. The bad, is the area in which it is located. I think this would be perfect for a couple, or two people, but not for those with young children. I am a single parent and came away with my 8 year old son. The alleyway in which you use to get into the property, on 3 occasions at different parts of different days, had a few people that were perhaps a bit down on their luck, intoxicated / under the influence of substance. We had no choice but to walk past them to get to the apartment after a day at the beach - which made my son uncomfortable and me even more so. My son is very outgoing and friendly, and on the first instance said good morning to those sitting on the ground - only to be growled at like a dog which then made him upset. The parking situation was little to be desired in peak time. I can assume that during none school holidays that the parking is sufficient, however in August it was a nightmare - I even got a ticket for my bumper being slightly in a loading bay (that I hadnt seen was a loading bay! - so watch those bumpers!)We had a lovely time, and I cannot fault the apartment at all - even smells lovely as it's above a laundrette! I do not want this review to put anyone off booking, just to ensure they are suitably prepared with the heads up from personal experience.
