While most reviews are highly positive, a few mention dated furnishings, minor maintenance issues, and occasional lack of welcome touches. Overall, The Roost provides a relaxing and enjoyable base for exploring the area, with the positives far outweighing the negatives.

Cleanliness is frequently highlighted, with many guests describing the cottage as spotlessly clean and well maintained inside. A small number of reviews mention issues such as cobwebs, spiders, or stained sofas, but these are outweighed by the majority of positive comments.

The location is consistently praised for its convenience to Stratford-upon-Avon and the Cotswolds, as well as its peaceful rural setting. Guests enjoy the countryside views and proximity to local attractions, with only minor comments about the rural approach.

Most guests find the cottage comfortable, with particular mention of good beds and a homely atmosphere. A few reviews note uncomfortable sofas or a lack of wardrobe space, but overall comfort is rated highly.

Several guests mention thoughtful touches such as fresh eggs and milk on arrival, but it should be noted these are not guaranteed. The owners are often described as friendly and welcoming, though a few guests felt the welcome could be improved.

Everything within The Roost was great. Beds so comfortable and beautiful linen to. Living room really cute and the kitchen had everything, so much crockery, pans, etc for cooking. Waitrose for shopping not far away and Stratford Garden Centre is fab to, food in Cafe is excellent. A definite on the list for a return visit. Follow the owners directions for how to locate The Roost. They do work, albeit I didn't quite get there in the dark.
