This very pretty listed cottage is only 200 yards from Anne Hathaway’s beautiful and famous cottage. It is of similar style and period, much smaller and one of a group. With many original and quirky features including beams, a feature inglenook fireplace and lead mullion windows. Situated in the quiet village of Shottery, about 1 mile from the centre of Stratford, with easy access to the many and varied attractions of this historic town catering for all interests, and in a quiet setting away from the bustle. Historic Warwick, Kenilworth, Evesham and the Cotswolds are all close by. Shop and pub serving food ¼ mile.

The position of Hathaway Hamlet is great, a neighbour to Anne Hathaway no less, though we never found her in. You can walk into Stratford reasonably easily and there are bus services and stops nearby which we had planned to use but the walk was ok. The cottage is certainly interesting, though if you don't do uneven surfaces it may not be for you. Downstairs comprises of a lounge and dining table, an inglenook fireplace (electric fire), kitchen with all you need for quick snacks/meals, also the bathroom is located downstairs. There are plenty of tourist information brochures if you need any help, also walks and things to look for on the way.The upstairs has a double four post bed, a bit creaky, the floor is quite uneven as you leave the top of the stairs which my wife found a bit tricky, the bed is quite comfy and several pillows to choose from.Outside the front door there is a small patio area which gets quite warm in the sun, again its not a perfect surface and can take a few seconds to get your seat correct.The neighbour is lovely, but please give her help with the bins going out on a Thursday evening (you can check the Council website for the bin rota, though I couldn't find the green bin day. Also for bringing in on a Friday. I had a very nice chat whilst under direction of what bin went where, she's lovely but struggles moving bins.Wi Fi is also available.An enjoyable week with plenty in reach to do. The Bell is good for food, but can get busy. We also found The Piston Club @ The Stag, but a drive away for good food.

Lovely period cottage, with all the quirks you would expect with a property of this age. Overall a very cosy feel to the interior. Property is very well situated for Stratford Upon Avon and 200 yards from Anne Hathaway's Cottage, local pub within walking distance.
