Please note: There are steps and a small pond in the garden. Due to the age of the property there is a small steep open sided staircase and care must be taken when using, a hand rail will help guests to use the stairs.. The Old Toll House is a traditional, detached, country holiday cottage in the heart of the Ironbridge Gorge and is ideally placed to explore this world-famous Heritage Site. It sits less than 110 yards from the River Severn and is a short walk from the popular Coalport China Museum, or only a 5-minute drive away from Ironbridge.
This detached holiday cottage benefits from close proximity to a variety of great pubs and restaurants. People who enjoy the outdoor life are spoilt for choice; there is a National Cycle Route 55 yards from the property and cycle hire is available in the close by village of Jackfield. For the more adventurous, canoe hire is available in Ironbridge. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Very nice cottage, well-equipped and really close to all the sites in the Ironbridge Gorge. We had an issue with the shower when we were there, it was freezing cold a lot of the time and this was because one of the radiators is leaking. I flagged this with the owner and hopefully it will be sorted promptly. It would also be good if the main door into the cottage could be shut without having to use they key each time - there is no latch or handle at all.Apart from these issues everything else was good.

I have been to Coalport a number of times before and I love the area. The cottage was clean, tidy and well stocked. However, I did find the seating very uncomfortable and had to keep rearranging the cushions.The outside area was pleasant and the weather was kind enough to allow sitting on the patio with a drink.There are six pubs within walking distance of the cottage and all dog-friendly. Five do food and The Boat Inn across the river prides itself on providing a large variety of snacks. It is a 'proper' pub and very welcoming. There are some lovely walks and it's an easy walk into Ironbridge (2.5 miles) for more pubs, restaurants, shops and museums. The museums are coming under the umbrella of the National Trust and there were a number of restrictions until they have finished the reorganisation. However, there are a number of market towns, etc less than an hour's drive from the cottage which are well worth visiting.I will be back!
