Elsie’s Cottage is a charming and very comfortable character cottage which is situated in a superb area. There are wonderful countryside views and many local walks from the doorstep, yet it’s located within easy reach of shops, pubs and take-aways in nearby Pontesbury. Jane had thoughtfully provided a generous welcome pack for us and we very much appreciated all the many little extras such as fresh flowers in every room. The enclosed garden was lovely to sit out in and our golden retriever was so pleased to be able to run free and play on the lawn. We loved hearing the birdsong early in the morning and the fabulous sunsets across the valley on a number of evenings. This small cottage is perfect for a couple (and dog) with the en-suite double bedroom being downstairs, located off the sitting room. However, it should be noted that the very steep, winding staircase with narrow treads and no hand rail may prove unsuitable for some guests. Upstairs on the landing there is a single day-bed leading to another double bedroom. Alll guests should be aware that they would need to pass through the downstairs bedroom in order to use the only bathroom.Overall, we had a very relaxing stay in a delightful cottage and hope to return soon.

Lovely cottage in a great location. The kitchen is really well stocked and Jane helpfully sent over what they have in the kitchen before we arrived, so we didn’t by things unnecessarily. We’ll definitely be back.
