About this property

Much Wenlock 5.8 miles. The Willows is an immaculately-presented, contemporary cottage, attached to the owner's own home, in the lovely rural setting of Church Preen, a small scattered hamlet, close to Much Wenlock and Church Stretton, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Attractively furnished throughout, the cottage provides light and airy accommodation for friends and families wishing to appreciate one of the most beautiful areas in Shropshire, surrounded by unspoilt countryside. On the ground floor you will find the wonder of the open-plan living space, stylishly furnished with an inviting sitting area boasting a warming electric fire, a dining area making a lovely spot to spend quality time with your loved ones and a well-equipped kitchen, offering everything you could need for a relaxing self-catered stay in one spot. The ground floor is also home to a convenient cloakroom, while up on the first floor you can find the shower room, letting you enjoy a rejuvenating rinse after a day of rambling, with the two bedrooms providing a lovely space to relax with both a king-size with handy zip/link functions being a twin in request and a double room to choose from, each boasting a homely interior from which to unwind. French doors lead out to the pretty enclosed garden with views across open fields, here you can sit and relax on the patio and enjoy the peace and tranquillity with a good book to keep you company or rustle up a tasty barbecue after a day exploring the local area renowned for its walking and beauty. There are local walks with footpaths close to the cottage and cycle routes on your doorstep filled with an abundance of wildlife. With the market towns of Much Wenlock and Church Stretton close by there is much to see and do, with interesting historical architecture, independent shops, local markets, Wenlock Priory and Buildwas Abbey to explore and fabulous walks along Wenlock Edge and across Long Mynd and Carding Mill Valley. Ironbridge and the World Heritage museums of Blists Hill and Coalport are well-worth a visit, as is the medieval county town of Shrewsbury. Ludlow with its cobbled streets, 12th century castle and Michelin-starred restaurants has much to offer, as has Bridgnorth, with its town split by the River Severn, linked by a myriad of winding steps and a funicular railway. Steam railway enthusiasts can enjoy a ride from Bridgnorth to Bewdley and on to Kidderminster or simply sample the delights of the station itself, taking in some refreshment in the Railway Arms on site or one of the many local Bridgnorth pubs scattered throughout the town, selling locally-brewed beers and serving good food. The Willows is a delightful, secluded cottage in a pretty rural setting, just perfect for relaxation and an ideal base for exploring the local area.

Much Wenlock is a charming 700 year old market town resting on the northeast end of Wenlock Edge, with plenty of beautiful Shropshire countryside to explore all around. The twisting streets and half-timbered buildings make a beautiful town centre, housing a good range of amenities including shops, pubs and restaurants to while away the hours in. There are plenty of historic wonders to explore in the local area, while Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Ludlow offer their own excitement.
