About this property

Bishop's Frome 2.1 miles. Positioned on a farm in the quaint village of Munderfield in Herefordshire, is this Grade II barn conversion, Munderfield Mill. Retaining much of its character with exposed brick walls and beams, this pet-friendly home makes an idyllic escape for a group of ten. A single-track road will lead you to your holiday home, where you will be greeted by off-road parking and a large, enclosed garden to soak in the countryside setting. Enter the detached property to find a boot room; here you can leave your walking shoes and jackets ready for a ramble. Locate the spacious kitchen/diner, where the chef of the group can make use of the electric range cooker and dishwasher to make mealtimes easy. When dinner is served, gather around the dining table, and uncork a bottle of fizz to celebrate the occasion, or if the sun is shining, carry the conversation outside for an alfresco affair! As the evening cools, retreat to the sitting room and enjoy family favourites on the Smart TV as the woodburning stove crackles before you. When eyes grow heavy, climb the stairs and relax your muscles in the bathroom with a soak in the bath or stand under the shower for a hot rinse. There are four bedrooms to choose from, all brimming with character, including a king-size with an en-suite, a double, a twin and a family room with an en-suite bathroom super-king-size bed and a mezzanine twin. Awaken with a cup of tea at the dining table as breakfast is being prepared and plans are being made for the adventurous day ahead. A short drive will lead you to the village of Bishop's Frome, where you can sample pubs with rustic atmospheres, mooch around the village store and take up winemaking in the Frome Valley. For a taste of history, visit The Time Machine or venture further afield to the National Trust site of Wichenford Dovecote and enjoy a picnic at Ralph Court Gardens. Head into the city of Hereford for a cluster of exciting attractions, with Hereford Cider Museum Trust to learn about the art of cider-making, a gothic cathedral and Hereford Museum and Art Gallery to absorb the culture. For a countryside escape with those who mean most, choose Munderfield Mill.

The house itself is lovely and spacious, great for a large group, but also plenty of separate cosy areas for anyone wanting their own space. I’ve stayed in places in the past stating it’s for 10 and it’s perhaps felt like a squeeze, this is not the case at Munderfield, it very much felt like a good space for 10 adults with a good size open plan kitchen, leading out onto a great size dining / living room area. There were double doors from here to a lovely outdoor space with seating as well. Plenty of sleeping space with comfortable beds / bedding and a good amount of bathrooms too, all very clean and finished to a high standard. Location wise it’s set quite far back from the road which made it very quiet with just the atmosphere of the farm and farm animals, which we loved to add to the countryside experience. But it was still very well connected to the rest of the Malvern area, within easy reach (20 mins ish, from vineyards, local towns, Ledbury etc.) All round a really great stay and wonderful weekend, thank you very much for having us and being such great hosts!

The welcome pack, especially the wonderful cake decorated with Easter eggs (being Easter week) was a thoughtful gesture & very much appreciated. The owners were friendly & helpful.

Ideally suited for a large multi-generation family special birthday booking with plenty of space, ample crockery and cooking utensils. Highly recommended provided one reads the description and recognises the property is on a working farm where we found it interesting watching the young lambs and calves.
