The cottage’s original stairs lead from the kitchen up to the first floor where you will find the bedroom, boasting a handmade oak king size bed and natural choir flooring, along with two windows which provide an outlook over The Meare. The bathroom is splendid; boasting a large freestanding bath where you can savour long soaks each evening, plus a walk-in shower cubicle, basin and WC. There are patios to the front and rear of this Suffolk holiday cottage with an outdoor table and chairs so you can enjoy alfresco dining on a warm evening. Alternatively, start your morning here with a fresh coffee before venturing into the village in search of the ingredients for a hearty breakfast. Across the road, you’ll find the Beach House café and restaurant and The Meare café which is ideal for when you don’t fancy cooking. Keen walkers (either two legs or four paws!) will enjoy the area as it's ideal for walking and cycling, both along the coast and the inland countryside. The beautiful village Meare can be explored in the summertime by rowing boat, plus there are tennis courts and a games room at the nearby Thorpeness Country Club during the summer months. Visit the popular coastal resort of Southwold with its old-world charm and painted beach huts, or head into the village of Aldeburgh, boasting connections to the composer Benjamin Britten and the wonderful Aldeburgh Music Festival. Aldeburgh is a popular, vibrant seaside town known for its culture, traditional vibe, and one of the country's top fish and chip restaurants! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world's most prestigious music festivals and have been designated one of Britain's top 50 places to live. The gorgeous pebbly beach is separated from the unspoiled pastel-colored seaside residences and the town by Crag Path, which runs down the seafront. During the summer months, the beach is a popular spot for parties and couples to enjoy the delicious fish and chips. The town is steeped in history and has evolved into a fantastic shopping destination, with a decent mix of local and chain establishments to choose from. The town also has a good range of taverns and restaurants, or you may buy fresh fish from the seafront huts and prepare your own meal at home.
