Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviews indicate mixed feedback on cleanliness. Some guests found the cottage clean and comfortable, while others reported issues with dust, cobwebs, dirty crockery, and a musky smell. The presence of dog hair and stained items were also mentioned, suggesting room for improvement in this area.

The location is highly praised for its convenience, being within walking distance to the town, beach, and local shops. The proximity to a cafe and garden centre adds to the appeal. The quiet setting on farmland is also appreciated, making it a strong point for the property.

Comfort receives mixed reviews. Some guests found the beds comfortable and the cottage homely, while others reported uncomfortable beds and sofas. The warmth of the cottage was noted positively, but the lack of a secure garden for pets was a recurring concern.

Facilities and maintenance are areas noted for improvement. Guests commented on the need for updates, including the shower, heating system, and kitchenware. The lack of a fully enclosed garden and issues with appliances like the dishwasher and DVD player were also highlighted.

Many guests expressed gratitude for the thoughtful welcome gifts for both themselves and their pets, which added a personal touch to their stay. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed with every visit.

Great location, few minutes from grocery stores and ATM, one minute from a really nice breakfast cafe, 15-20 minutes from the sea front, overall we had a nice few days

We have stayed at several cottages on Sykes over the years, and we found Cowmans Cottage to be a total let down in comparison. The cottage needs a complete revamp, furniture and carpets are old and dirty, there was a musky smell throughout the house, particularly the lounge. Very basic kitchen and windows needed clearning too. Some cupboards were junked up with all sorts. There were no emergency contact numbers for doctors, hospital etc, no takeaway listings or any instructions for heating, cooker etc. There was a welcome pack for the pooch and a box of biscuits, but a few tea bags, coffee and milk would be more helpful. Generally felt the place was tired and in bad state of repair. Garden was meant to be dog friendly, but was a wraparound garden completely open to the front of the property. The banister was also dangerous with rails missing. All in all very disappointed, and although a great base, will not be returning.
