About this Bed and Breakfast

Nestled in the countryside on the Wiltshire/Somerset border, Black Dog Farm is a beautifully presented Georgian farmhouse with elegant en-suite guestrooms and a friendly home from home atmosphere.

This charming grade II listed building is situated close to English Heritage sites including Bath and Stonehenge and a wealth of attractions including Longleat House and Safari Park. There is ample off road parking available for guests and we also offer free Wi-Fi throughout the rooms and building.  

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

Individually designed throughout, our three luxury guestrooms are generously sized and come complete with en-suite bathrooms, a well stocked hospitality tray, TVs with DVD players, radio alarm clocks and hairdryers.

The Somerset Room is a comfortable double bedroom with two large sash windows overlooking the garden. This room can be presented as a twin bedroom and has enough room for a small bed or cot. The en-suite has both a bathtub and separate shower.

The Wiltshire Room is presented as a twin bedroom with countryside views towards Westbury. There is a sofa bed in this room for additional guests and the en-suite has a luxury whirlpool bath tub and separate shower.

The Standerwick Room is a beautifully old farmhouse room with exposed ceiling beams and a king size bed. The room has its own en-suite shower room and arched windows with views across the kitchen garden, ponds and streams.  

Breakfast

We have an extensive list of cooked and continental breakfast options which are fully inclusive of your room rate. Served in our dining room every morning, we offer an extensive list for you to choose from and are able to cater for special diets with notification.

We make efforts to source all ingredients locally from farms and butchers and eggs are from our own free range hens.  

Other Facilities

We have extensive gardens around the house with ponds, streams and patio areas where guests are welcome to sit and enjoy the natural and peaceful surroundings.

Sorry – we are unable to accommodate pets. Smoking is not permitted inside the building, there are designated smoking areas outside.

Cots and additional beds can be put in two of three rooms with prior notification. There is ample off road parking available onsite.  

Around and About

Black Dog Farm is perfectly situated for a range of English Heritage sites and attractions; we are only 10 minutes from Longleat House, Safari Park and Centre Parcs.

The World Heritage sites of Bath and Stonehenge are easily accessed by car and we can recommend a range of attractions and activities nearby – ideal for both families and couples.

There are a wealth of pathways and bridlepaths leading out to the countryside directly from our front door. Paths lead out to the local villages of Chapmanslade and Warminster and there are plenty of pubs and restaurants to stop off at along the way for lunch or an evening meal.  

Availability

Check in is between 4pm and 10pm and rooms must be vacated between 7 30am and 10am on the day of departure.  

Directions

From London, the suggested route is M4 and A350 to Warminster, or M3, A303 and A36 to Warminster. From Warminster - follow the A36 towards Bath. Pass under the A3098. The Farmhouse is on the A36 on the left hand side, half a mile past the bridge. From Bath - follow the A36 south east towards Warminster. Black Dog Farm is on the A36, 1 mile past the Somerset/ Wiltshire border on the right hand side.
