In the unspoilt town of Bradford-on-Avon, Lock View Cottage is a delightful three-storey property set in a quiet lane overlooking the Kennet and Avon Canal. It is a superb base for couples, friends or families wishing to explore Bradford-on-Avon, the stunning Georgian city of Bath, and the surrounding countryside.

For longer day trips the cottage is an ideal base for visiting the richly historic areas of Wiltshire and Somerset. Avebury (40 minutes), Stonehenge (43 minutes), Cheddar Gorge (52 minutes) and Devizes (29 minutes) are all within easy reach.

The cottage is a short stroll from the medieval tithe barn and the town centre, with its historic sights, riverside bistros and conveniently located station. Right on your doorstep the canal, and river Avon, provide abundant possibilities for easy walks and cycle rides. For the more adventurous, a short stroll up the lane brings you into open countryside and a wonderful network of public footpaths and gastro pubs. Bikes and canoes can be rented from within 100 metres of the property.

Styled as a modern holiday home the cottage is comfortably furnished. The living room is a cosy space to relax in. A well-equipped kitchen, with quarry-tiled floor and pine table, has seating for up to four people.

The two beautiful bedrooms overlook the canal and town. The characterful twin room on the first floor comprises original wood panelling and a cast-iron fireplace. The double bedroom on the top floor has wooden beams and enjoys expansive views across the town and towards the lock.

The interior is completed with a contemporary bathroom that continues the light and airy feel.

Outside, a small secluded courtyard garden is the perfect place to have breakfast on a sunny morning.

Full of history and culture you can enjoy several days in Bradford-on-Avon, enjoying picnics on the river banks. Easily accessible is the city of Bath, where there’s so much on offer for all tastes, from the striking architecture of the Georgian terraces to the celebrated Roman Baths and wonderful abbey, and with ample opportunities to eat out or indulge in a bit of retail therapy, you really are spoilt for choice.
