Further afield, but within easy driving distance, are the New Forest National Park, romantic ruins of Wardour Castle, Stourhead Estate and the lovely beaches of the Dorset Jurassic coast, to name but a few of the many attractions, making Inglenook Cottage an ideal base for exploring. As you enter the charming living room your eyes are drawn to the cottage’s namesake, the large Inglenook fireplace, festooned with dried hops. The well-equipped kitchen is divided from the living room by a breakfast bar and dining table. A door leads out to the pretty shared courtyard, where you can sit and relax with a glass of wine on warmer nights or dine alfresco. A spiral staircase leads you to the first floor where you will find the bathroom, and master bedroom with king sized bed and pretty fireplace. Winding up to the second floor is the twin-bedded attic room, a perfect hideout, boasting views of the cathedral spire; Britain's tallest spire! Salisbury makes the perfect holiday base at any time of the year, its 13th-century Gothic cathedral being just one of many historic delights awaiting to be discovered in the city, with Salisbury Museum making the perfect place to learn about its deep past.
