No smoking. Please note: No children.. Leighwood Cottage is a modern and quaint property, overlooking Occombe Woods. Through the entrance hallway, the bright, airy, and well-equipped kitchen is on your left. There is a very handy utility room opposite, where you will find a washer/ dryer and toilet facilities. The living/ dining room is next to the kitchen, sliding glass doors bring the outside in, leading you out and down the steps onto the rear patio area.
A peaceful space to sit, elevated above the treeline where you can enjoy the view whilst enjoying your morning coffee or an evening tipple with the setting sun. The path winds down through the garden and a gate leads you into the woodland, to enjoy gorgeous morning/afternoon strolls through the trees to relax and rejuvenate. The bedroom boasts a queen-sized bed and fitted wardrobes. The modern, ensuite bathroom benefits from a freestanding bath as well as a separate shower cubicle.
Leighwood Cottage is situated in a well-regarded area of Upper Preston and is located some 1.3 miles (a good healthy walk, or a couple of minutes drive), from the well-known Preston Sands and seafront greens. Preston is located just outside of the hustle and bustle of Paignton town, while still being close to link roads for travelling and exploring the rest of Torbay and the South Hams.
A favourite among locals is the nearby Occombe farm café, within easy walking distance (0.7 miles) up the road from the property, for a hearty breakfast/lunch. Another favourite is the Church House Inn, a traditional pub with a beamed ceiling and exposed stone wall, just a 5-minute drive away (1.5 miles), and serving great local food and drink. The closest pub is Ye Olde Smokey, which is a little over 1 mile away and is famous for its weekend carveries. Whatever your reason for visiting the area, this is a great base from where to start.

We loved our stay at Leighwood Cottage.The location was good, although we have never stayed in Devon, so didn't realise how hilly it was. The cottage is at the top of a steep hill, so if walking is not your thing, you do need to take the car out every time you go anywhere.The cleanliness was amazing, couldn't fault it.The comfort and equipment was very, very good. Again, no complaints.We didn't really find any local amenities, like a local shop or anything like that, as we just stopped at places in the car, on the way home, after a day out, but the town was only about a 10-ish minute drive away. And we saw bus stops as we were driving about.The value for money was brilliant - a whole little "home from home", for the same price as we normally pay to stay in a hotel room.

The place is lovely. The kitchen is equipped.There two toilets,wash dryer. Bathroom is lush .I did use the bath. Comfortable bed. One best place with stay in for long time. The place is for a couple. We did meet Mike and had lovely chat with him. The little touched was lovely. Bottle of wine ,biscuits and milk in fridge. Lovely welcome card as well. It when we walk into the bungalow it was wow . We will be back.
