About this property

Rodley Manor Cottage is a charming dwelling attached to the owner's main house, Bloemuns, at the end of a lane. It is a former annex to the main property, which was originally a cottage belonging to Rodley Manor Farm. The Farm was half a mile away and is now demolished. The owners decided to name the annex Rodley Manor Cottage to retain a part of family history. The property is situated on the outskirts of Lydney town with far-reaching views of the River Severn from the front and side of property and countryside views from the back. Lydney Harbour is steeped in history and heritage and there are walks along the banks of the River Severn. There is a pleasant lake near Bathurst Park, and Norchard Steam railway is just up the road. Lyndey Park Estate has a roman temple site and museum with spring gardens which are in the centre of the deer park, (but opening times do vary throughout the year). The well-appointed property is ideal for couples or solo visitors seeking to spend some time exploring the Royal Forest of Dean and surrounding area. Many attractions and forest walks are a short drive away. Internally the property enjoys bags of character with the exposed beams, exposed stone walls and wooden and stone floors complementing the eclectic furnishings within each room. The charm of the interior is continued into the sitting room where you can curl up on the L-shaped sofa and tune into the wall-mounted large television. There is a downstairs wet room with shower, basin and WC. Upstairs there are two bedrooms both with lovely views, one king-size and one double, both having ample storage and space. There is an upstairs shower room with walk-in shower, basin and WC, and there is a spacious landing area. To the outside of the property there is a rear patio are with table and chairs.
