About this property

Nestled in the seaside town of Weymouth, along the beautiful Jurassic coast, close to the beach, The Skipper’s House is a wonderful escape for a family looking to explore the best of Dorset. Set over two floors, with an enclosed courtyard, The Skipper’s House features a welcoming sitting room, complete with a sofa, two chairs and Smart TV so you can enjoy your favourite shows after a long day. When appetite picks up, move into the kitchen and cook up a storm, assisted by a range of appliances, before settling down at the dining table and indulging. Head out through the patio doors from the dining room into the enclosed courtyard and spend those warmer evenings sitting back with a refreshing beverage in hand, toasting to a much-needed escape. Whisk away upstairs and make yourself comfortable within the bedrooms, offering a double, twin and single, serviced by a gleaming shower room. The main attraction of Weymouth is its stunning beach, nestled just a stone’s throw away, providing plenty of space for picnicking, sunbathing and engaging in a variety of watersport activities. Wander the Old Harbour area, lined with quaint fishermen’s cottages, the vibrant harbour and the bustling waterfront, before exploring the narrow streets and dipping in and out of various independent boutiques. Sample fresh food at one of the many well-established restaurants or pick up a portion of fish and chips for something quick. For historic sites, visit Tudor House, the Weymouth Museum, Northe Fort or the isle of Portland, connected to the mainland by a causeway. There’s so much to look forward to with a holiday at The Skipper’s House.

The popular resort of Weymouth makes an outstanding year-round holiday destination, with a wide variety of attractions on offer, appealing to all tastes and ages. The glorious golden sandy beaches have excellent facilities for all kinds of watersports, whilst from the picturesque, bustling harbour you can take regular fishing trips. A short drive takes you to Portland Harbour, and the rugged “Isle” of Portland, linked to Weymouth by the dramatic Chesil Beach. Visit Dorchester, Thomas Hardy’s “Casterbridge”, only 7 miles away, or take a journey along the scenic coastal road and call in at Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens. Alternatively, just head down to West Bay - the views of the stunning Dorset Heritage Coastline are not to be missed!

No curtains in bedrooms, front bedrooms on roadside are extremely lit up at night from the street light directly outside.

Bus stop at top of Lennox street on front. Looks newly renovated with new furniture beds very comfortable. Only one complaint the owner really needs to put blackout curtains in front bedrooms as street light right outside so had trouble sleeping.
