Amaranta is a pretty house on the popular but quiet Maltings development on the site of the old Devenish brewery.  It is a modern well built, nicely apportioned house which has been sensibly equipped and furnished by the owners offering a good home from home.  It is placed in an ideal location for guests visiting Weymouth.  The property sits in an elevated position accessed via a fairly steep path and some steps.  The Maltings housing development lies approximately five minutes walk away from the busy Brewers Quay area with its numerous eating places and colourful pubs which all lead to the fascinating Harbour. From the Maltings, you can walk along the coast path to the Nothe Fort or to visit the ruined castle at Sandsfoot which is nearby.  Secret rock pools are to be found at nearby Newton's Cove which capture the imagination of young children. For the less energetic the coastline offers benches where you may sit and read the day's newspaper or just look across the bay to Portland.  The golden sands at Weymouth are about a 10 minute walk along the bustling harbour and through the town centre.
