About this property

This lovely terrace house, Smallmouth Cottage, is located on the outskirts of the sleepy village of Wyke Regis in Dorset. Smallmouth Cottage, a tranquil coastal abode with two floors and space for up to four guests, is located near to Weymouth and its many attractions as well as Smallmouth Bay. As you arrive at the home, you have a choice between two handy off-road parking spaces, one of which is situated at the front of the property and features a tidy front yard and the other at the rear. As you enter, you'll be enchanted by the welcoming living/dining area, where you may relax with a glass of wine and watch a movie on TV while enjoying the warmth of the electric fireplace or sit down to a great home-cooked meal and toast to an unforgettable holiday. Prepare delicious meals in the stylish kitchen, which is equipped with everything you need to make sure your guests' requirements are met, including a useful washing machine for sand-covered clothing after a day at the beach. As night falls, retire to one of the two exquisitely furnished bedrooms; the first is a double painted nautically to honour the property's coastal surroundings, and the second is a twin. While your pyjamas warm up on the heated towel rail, wind down for the evening with a nice bath and your favourite book. Make drinks for your visitors, then sit back and relax in the sunshine at the nice seating area. Start by visiting Smallmouth Bay, which is nearby and offers a variety of watersports, beautiful sandy beaches, and distant views of Portland Harbour as you explore your immediate surroundings. It's the ideal place for a fun-filled family day at the beach. Make sure to stop at the renowned Crab House Café where you may have top-notch, fresh seafood while seeing the sea. Entice the family with a fish dinner while strolling along Weymouth Harbour, indulge the kids with a trip to the Sea Life Centre, or treat the adults to a round of mini golf at Weymouth Pirate Mini Golf, before spending the rest of the day at Weymouth Beach where you can sunbathe, go paddling, and construct sandcastles. The National Trust site of Max Gate, which was formerly the residence and constructed by the great author Thomas Hardy in 1885, is located in the town of Dorchester, which is further away and awash in culture. Here, visitors may explore the interior of the house as well as the lush walled gardens. With your loved ones, Smallmouth Cottage is the ideal home away from home for exploring Dorset.

Just two miles from the centre of Weymouth, Wyke Regis is a community on the south-western side of the city that stretches as far as the rear of Chesil Beach and The Fleet. It is situated on the northern boundaries of Portland Harbour. There are nearby boutiques, coffee shops, and eateries, including the renowned Crab House café, which has oyster beds just outside its door. A legacy of the Olympic Games, the National Sailing School is only two miles away on the edge of Portland Harbour and offers a wide range of water activities. The Fleet Lagoon, which connects Wyke Regis and Chesil Beach, is a significant place for wildlife. Several bird species may be spotted there, and Chesil Beach is also a well-known location for fishing. The Fleet is perhaps best known for serving as the location of Barnes Wallis' bouncing bomb testing, which was made famous by the Dam Busters movie. Many of Dorset's most famous locations along the Jurassic Coast may be explored from Wyke Regis.

So much attention to detail. Even a special light that came on by the bathroom in the night. The kitchen was well stocked and everything was very clean. The location is wonderful right next to a small bay. Perfect for our toddler as we could walk there in minutes. The garden and living room got the afternoon sun so perfect for relaxing with a drink. There was a wonderful fish restaurant just round the corner. We would definitely like to return.
