About this property

Lovely terraced cottage nestled in the coastal town of Weymouth just a few minutes’ walk from the Old Harbour.

Pixie cottage is welcoming you with comfortable furnishings throughout, open plan living area with kitchen and diner, where you can socialise and have a relaxing afternoon or prepare delicious meals. The bathroom is on the ground floor. The cottage still has its original staircase – steeper than most – leading to two cosy bedrooms. A tiny but charming courtyard (as shown in photos) at the rear of the property provides space for the table and chairs where you can sit to enjoy a drink in the evenings.

Even though the cottage is quite small, it contains everything you might need during your stay in Weymouth holidaying. The popular Brewers Quay and Hope Square is a short walk away with array of restaurants, pubs and cafes will allow you to enjoy a drink in the sun or get a warming drink cosy by a fireplace in winter.

Cross the Hope Square and you will reach the Old Harbour with several yachts and fishing boats returning from a fishing or sightseeing trip. You may see some crabbers along the harbour, if you fancy, why not to join them and have a fabulous afternoon with your kids.

In only a few minutes you will reach bustling town centre with a lot of restaurants, shops and pubs as well. The main beach is not too far away which has sand perfect for making castles and shallow waters for bathing.

Take a stroll along the harbour, Brewers Quay and the town centre, venture further along the promenade to Bowleaze cove popular with water sports enthusiasts.

A lovely day out with family would be a visit to world-famous Monkey World, The Tank Museum or Sealife centre.

Pixie cottage is a wonderful retreat in the bustling town centre of Weymouth for couples or young families.

The ever popular resort of Weymouth makes an outstanding year-round holiday destination, with a wide variety of attractions on offer, appealing to all tastes and ages. The glorious golden sandy beach with its shallow waters provide excellent facilities for all kinds of watersports, whilst from the picturesque, bustling harbour you can take regular fishing trips. A short drive takes you to Portland Harbour, and the rugged “Isle” of Portland, linked to Weymouth by the dramatic Chesil Beach. Visit Dorchester, Thomas Hardy’s “Casterbridge”, only 7 miles away, or take a journey along the scenic coastal road and call in at Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens. Alternatively, just head down to West Bay - the views of the stunning Dorset Heritage Coastline are not to be missed!

Just a couple of things as feedback the sofas are very uncomfortable and the bath could do with a non slip mat while having a shower.

There were dirty finger marks around the handle of the bathroom door. The back yard was filthy, and the drain was blocked. There was a dirty ashtray( a shell) on the table in the garden. The windows were do dirty, that someone had written on one with their finger, the word "Help". I have photos if they are helpful. The yard was so tiny, that my dog would not use it as an outside space. The whole point of booking a cottage with garden, is so that I don't have to go out last thing at night, in the dark, for the dog to have a wee. My dog refused to do anything, and if he had, it would not have gone down the blocked drain, anyway. I could stand in the middle of the yard, and comfortably put my hand on each wall around me. There was nothing to say that one of those walls also had next doors' bathroom window which opened out onto the yard, so not private, and when in the yard, all I kept hearing, was people in and out of the bathroom, on the loo etc.The fence you can see through the living room window, belongs to a pub, and every evening, when you are trying to sleep, they are rolling empty metal beer barrels down the street, to the gate. The next door neighbour is renovating their cottage, so there was constant banging coming from them breaking down a wall or something, and at night their small child was screaming, with nightmares or something. There was no double glazing, and the old sash windows were difficult to open, and the cottage was cold in the evening. There was a heater in the living room, which blew warm air, but it was noisy, and I wasn't sure warm air would be safe, as it could circulate virus germs which may hang around. There was nowhere to park outside, so loading and unloading was a big problem. There was supposedly places to park, but any cars parked down that road had many scrapes and dents, caused by other vehicles trying to pass through. I had to park many streets away ( Norwich street), where I just managed to find one space, and had to leave the car there all week, in case I couldn't repark. My previous experiences have been very good, with Dream Cottages, and they have had little welcome packs of tea, coffee, and biscuits, in case you have travelled far. This one didn't even have one teabag, or anything. I was not able to include my granddaughter in my holiday, after all, because of the covid scare, but considering the problems with the cottage, I am relieved she wasn't with me to experience it, on this occasion. I am a fan of Dream Cottages, but I will not return to Pixie Cottage.
