Lovely location, but some important details were missing from the listingWe recently stayed at this property for our annual family trip to Weymouth. The location is amazing, giving you the best of both worlds with beautiful countryside surroundings while still being within easy reach of the seaside.Unfortunately, on arrival we were greeted by a large sign alongside a stair gate stating that dogs were not permitted upstairs. The welcome pack also stated that dogs were not allowed on the sofas. While we completely respect the owners’ wishes and appreciate that these rules may be important to them, we were disappointed that these restrictions were not made clear in the property description on cottages.com. Had we known about them before booking, we would have chosen a different holiday home that was more suitable for our family and our dog.The beds were also a significant issue during our stay. Our party ranged in age from 6 to 50, and unfortunately everyone experienced poor sleep and sore backs, which did take away from our enjoyment of the house. The house itself is lovely, although it could benefit from some TLC to really make it shine. That said, we absolutely loved the garden and made the most of it throughout our stay. We particularly enjoyed watching the wonderful array of birds visiting the trees throughout the day.Despite the issues mentioned, we didn’t let them spoil our annual trip to Weymouth and still had a fantastic family break, helped by some wonderful weather. We hope the feedback is useful, particularly regarding making the dog restrictions clearer in the property listing, as this would help future guests choose accommodation that is right for their needs.

A family holiday for three generations and 2 dogs. Cottage was spacious and extremely well equipped. Off road parking and fully enclosed garden for the dogs. Garden table and chairs plus bbq was a bonus! Supermarkets within ten minute drive. Dorset is a beautiful county, suitable for all ages.

Loved this cottage which was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities needed. Jeanette the owner was very friendly and helpful. The downstairs had plenty of space and good size kitchen and downstairs toilet. The outside garden was perfect for relaxing and listening to the birds. Our two dogs were well catered for with watering bowl and doggy treats. The bedrooms were comfortable and we slept very well.Very good parking available in front drive Would highly recommend
