Situated in the heart of the village of Shipton Gorge, and within walking distance of The New Inn, 1 Rose Cottage is a pretty, terraced stone cottage with character features. The open-plan sitting and dining room, with modern gas stove, provides a comfortable space for families to relax and enjoy watching television or family dining. The kitchen is well-appointed with a range cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave and attractive open shelving. With one king bedroom, one double bedroom and a further twin bedroom, 1 Rose Cottage can comfortably accommodate up to six guests.

The cottage is well situated for exploring the nearby stunning Jurassic Coast, with Hive Beach just two miles away, and Westbay and Chesil Beach within easy reach. With a variety of seaside towns and villages just a short drive away including Bridport, Charmouth, Lyme Regis, and Weymouth, there are lots of options for your Dorset adventures. Twelve miles away is the county town of Dorchester with its shops and cinemas, Roman Town House, Iron Age hill fort, museums and Thomas Hardy’s Max Gate and Cottage.

When looking to spend time relaxing at the cottage, the terraced hillside garden offers space for al fresco dining, and several options for sitting with a good book, a spot of sun bathing, or just gazing at the rural views across this quaint village.

Please be aware the cottage has a steep staircase and a steep terraced garden accessed by steps, and would be unsuitable for anyone with limited mobility. Children to be supervised in the garden at all times.
