About this property

With stunning views over Capability Brown laid out parkland, some of which is home to a small herd of alpacas, this gorgeous retreat for two is ideally situated for a peaceful break, or exploring the delights of Dorset.

Alpaca Cottage is a special retreat for two, and named in honour of the property owners' small herd of Alpaca's, that live in the neighbouring field. The single-storey accommodation is light, airy and well-appointed with stylish touches throughout.

On arrival you will see a pretty small courtyard garden, and the glass fronted entrance in to your self-contained holiday home, where you will find an open-plan sitting room with dining area and kitchen. The attractive king-size bedroom with brass bedstead has its own en-suite shower room, with a spacious walk-in shower enclosure.

Originally a barn, Alpaca Cottage has been carefully converted with comfort in mind, and the layout is ideal for guests with limited mobility. Sitting next to the owners' house, the cottage enjoys fabulous views across the parkland which can be enjoyed whilst taking your morning coffee or having a tasty lunch when sitting in the courtyard garden. You may also enjoy a visit from one of the three rescue chickens that also live at the property, or perhaps like to walk with the alpacas which can be arranged with the owners.

The cottage is located off a private road, in the hamlet of Southover on the edge of Frampton village, and sits in the midst of parkland with numerous footpaths, and is close to National Cycle Path #26, which is ideal for guests looking to explore the area on foot or by bicycle. Alpaca Cottage is also close to the beautiful River Frome, which can be walked beside, or even paddled in. The wonderful Jurassic Coast is just 10 miles away, and the historic county town of Dorchester just 5 miles away, with a great selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and museums. The popular towns of Bridport, Beaminster, Lyme Regis, Sherborne and Weymouth are within easy reach, and all just a pleasant drive or cycle away.
