Guests appreciate the friendly owners and the thoughtful touches, including welcome packs and treats. The local pub and village amenities add to the charm, and the property serves as a good base for exploring the area. Some guests mention issues with cleanliness and road noise, but overall experiences are positive, with many enjoying their stay.

Guests have provided mixed feedback on cleanliness. While some found the cottage to be clean and well-presented, others reported it as unclean with a need for a deep clean, particularly in the kitchen and bathroom. The presence of cobwebs and dust was noted, suggesting inconsistency in cleaning standards.

The cottage is situated in a lovely village with a friendly local pub and shop, and is well-placed for exploring Dorset. However, some guests found the proximity to the road and associated noise to be a drawback. The availability of local walks and the convenience to nearby attractions are positives.

Many guests found the cottage comfortable, highlighting the comfy bed and the cosy atmosphere, especially with the log fire. However, some guests mentioned issues such as a damp smell and an uncomfortable sofa, which detracted from the overall comfort of their stay.

Facilities such as a well-equipped kitchen and luxurious bathroom were praised, but there were several mentions of poor Wi-Fi connectivity and mobile signal. The road access and parking were also points of concern for some guests. Maintenance issues like a cracked cooker hob were noted.

The owners' thoughtfulness was frequently commended, with guests mentioning welcome packs, treats for both humans and dogs, and other extras. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

The property was not in a good condition and really filthy , pubic hairs and urine collected over a period around the base of the toilet , peeling wallpaper with black mould , The blind in the bathroom filthy and covered in black mould , a broken hob glued back together , I could go on and on and have many pictures to back up my review . I gave the owner a chance to respond, nothing, Sykes have ignored my complaint about the inaccurate description so I’m sorry but I wouldn’t want anyone else to have the same experience we had , we abandoned our booking after one night and booked into a hotel. What a total waste of money . There is no excuse for not cleaning the property or providing a misleading description .

As most of the reviews have said the cleanliness really lets it down. A villager warned us of this as we pulled up. We had to wash all crockery and cutlery. The kitchen cupboards were greasy and dirty as was the oven. We chose to eat out all week. Lack of cupboard space meant our food stayed in the bags. The lounge cannot be cleaned in between lets as the dust in the corners and behind the TV had been there a long long time, as had the dead flies on the windowsills. The small outside space could be made to look lovely and useable if it was weeded and flowers were in the planter instead of the dandelion and decent chairs were provided, not the rusty set that is there. I hope Skyes cottages work with the owners to make this the lovely cottage it could be.

The village was lovely for a walk around with the dogs or alone. Lovely walk down to the train station and the village hall green was great for the dogs. The little local shop was very useful and the local pub was great, very friendly and an extensive menu. Tracey and David were very helpful and friendly and available to answer any questions whenever we needed them. Would like to visit in colder weather to try the log burner out!! The bathroom was stunning and we will definitely recommend to friends and family as it is a super convenient location
