Situated in a fabulous Dorset location, Puddle Mill Cottage is a beautiful detached home set in its own garden with a river running along the boundary, perfect for a family getaway to the countryside. Sleeping up to eight guests, just a seven-minute drive from the coast, the cottage is a perfect holiday retreat for families or group of friends, wanting a relaxing holiday or for a celebration. Entering the property, you will soon notice the traditional feel of the cottage, with Purbeck stone walls and floors, and seated bay windows that offer picturesque views of the surrounding countryside. The kitchen boasts a plethora of handy appliances and utensils, covering all of your self-catering needs. An inviting dining room hosts seating for eight and is where everyone can come together to ponder on the days’ events and plan for the remainder of the getaway. The sitting room has a traditional woodburning stove set in an inglenook fireplace and comfortable seating for everyone. A generous corner table is the perfect place to set out a puzzle or your drinks for the evening. There is a separate TV snug to escape to watch your favourite programmes or simply curl up with a good book after a long day exploring the coastline. Those with limited mobility will appreciate the ground-floor twin bedroom, serviced by a contemporary shower room with walk-in shower. Upstairs there are three further bedrooms, an additional walk-through single bedroom and small family bathroom. The master bedroom can be used as a family suite with a super king size bed leading to an adjoining room with a single bed and space to put up your travel cot for younger children. There is a further single bedroom and a comfortable, east facing double bedroom where you can enjoy the stunning Purbeck sunrises. Puddle Mill is the perfect location throughout the year. Enjoy a cosy drink by the fire or make the most of warm summer mornings with a cup of coffee out in the garden listening to bird song. On returning after a day of walking enjoy a refreshing drink listening to the river bubbling and soak up the evening sun. The village of Church Knowle is a short walk across the field and boasts a popular pub, The New Inn. Corfe Castle is close by and offers two pubs and a village store for picking up any essentials, while a little further up the road lies Wareham, a historical market town with its amenities, museum and cinema. Kimmeridge is just a short drive away where you can explore the Etches Collection of Jurassic marine fossils and refuel with lunch or a cream tea at Clavell’s Restaurant afterwards. Kimmeridge Bay boasts the best snorkelling in Dorset and is the perfect place to fossil hunt all year round and enjoy a swim! Swanage offers all the traditional seaside delights including a steam railway, golf and delicious fish and chips. For those who prefer the natural environment, RSPB reserves are located just beyond Corfe Castle, where Studland Beach and the Arne Peninsula offer a sandy contrast to the Jurassic coastline. If you have children to entertain both Monkey World and the Tank Museum are just a short drive away. There is much to see and do nearby, from the astonishing countryside and coastline of the Dorset AONB to the bustling coastal resorts of Poole and Bournemouth both close enough for excellent day trips. This remarkable home promises a holiday to remember, whatever time of year.

Corfe Castle is a historical village, considered as one of Britain’s most iconic and evocative survivors of the English Civil War, captivated by romantic castle ruins with scenic views across Purbeck. The village offers a unique choice of independent shops, pubs, restaurants, teahouses and two free museums. The main route through the village is East Street, which forms part of the A351 main road leading to Wareham in the north and Swanage in the south.
