This property is in a lovely, quiet location and is ideal for a couple or small family looking to explore rural Dorset and bask in the many adventurous days out available from the doorstep of the property. The gravelled driveway offers off-road parking and features a small paved area with outdoor furniture, perfect for alfresco dining and enjoying the best of Dorset's weather. Taking one step up into the property, the small hallway leads into the living/dining area, complete with a dining table and seating for three, as well as a sofa, TV and wood burning stove, perfect for kicking back and relaxing after a day of exploring. The kitchen features sleek white units with lovely wooden worktops and has a light and airy feel, equipped with many appliances and amenities that you will require during your self-catered stay, including a kettle, toaster, microwave and washing machine, should you wish to use it. The king-size master bedroom is spacious and has plenty of storage space, with a wardrobe and bed side tables available, there is also a CD player/radio you can make use of and a cot or pull out are also available upon request, should you have an additional guest or be travelling with an infant. The white bathroom is spacious and has a bath with shower over, so you can take your pic of how you want to begin each day of your holiday. Bere Regis is just over a mile from the cottage and is a quiet but charming place to visit, with a few pubs and a village shop to browse. The historic town of Wareham is slightly further afield, sitting along the River Frome, which provides a lovely backdrop to a day out here, you'll find a good selection of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants and galleries. Pay a visit to Monkey World, an ape rescue centre with more than 250 rescued animals, plus the delightful Wareham Forest offers plenty of picturesque strolls and see if you can spot some of the amazing wildlife that inhabits the area, including deer and lizards. Also take a trip to the tank museum with a number of tank fest weekends. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are 10 miles from the property with its glorious beaches and the opportunity to walk the incredible Jurassic Coast. However you choose to spend your holiday, there are plenty of opportunities available from your doorstep with a stay at Lilac Lea.

Bere Regis is situated in rural Dorset, between Dorchester and Poole and just a short distance to the villages of Moreton and Bovington. The village features the historic St John the Baptist church, which dates back over 1000 years, where tours can be undertaken, led by church members during the months of May-September. Close by are the quaint and picturesque villages of Briantspuddle, Affpuddle and Turnerspuddle. Affpuddle Forest, which is managed by the Forestry Commission, is just south of Affpuddle village, with Higher Hyde Heath (managed by Dorset Wildlife Trust) found south of Bere Regis. For the adventurous, there are numerous outdoor activities within easy reach of Bere Regis including Quad Biking, and Hang-Gliding. There are two village pubs and a village shop plus a farm shop which sells lots of local produce.
