Arthouse is a newly refurbished barn conversion, nestled in the hamlet of Kingston Russell near Bridport, and is surrounded by beautiful countryside with wild flowers and wildlife bringing your senses to life. This unique holiday retreat is filled with colourful, contemporary and abstract ceramic sculptures, paintings and prints using different techniques and mediums, all lovingly created by the property owners. Carefully curated mid-century modern furnishings compliment the space which enjoys high ceilings, exposed beams and an open floorplan.
Upon your arrival you will be welcomed with an attractive open-planned and well-equipped kitchen and dining area with plenty of space for preparing meals. Take three steps up to the sitting area, and you will find a beautiful olive green velvet sofa, statement furniture pieces, and distinctive artisan soft furnishings, conveying a contemporary yet cosy feel. A television and a selection of books and magazines are available to enjoy in the sitting area allowing you to make the most of your stay.
Leading off of the kitchen and dining area, you will take a step down to find a spacious and airy bedroom offering a beautifully dressed king-size bed and an en-suite walk-in wet room, with shower, hand basin and WC. Arthouse has doors from each room opening out on to the pretty gravelled courtyard, allowing the air and light to flood in, and creating a strong connection to the outdoors. A patio area with bistro table and chairs, deckchairs, a fire pit and parasol has created the perfect space for enjoying alfresco dining, or a spot of star gazing with a glass of wine, all wrapped up in one of the blankets provided.

I had a wonderful stay at the Arthouse. My partner and I booked a stay at the Arthouse, and we were the first guests to stay in the newly decorated former studio of artist duo Rouwen and Reeve. The stay was absolute bliss. Everything from the furniture to the art decorating the homey, spacious two bedroom studio created the perfect atmosphere to relax and recreate. The Arthouse is situated among beautiful English hills and not far from the beach, which suited for long walks and cold dips. We spent a few afternoons in Bridport, enjoying the local farmers market and the numerous unique small shops and cosy pubs. We recommend the Arthouse to anyone who appreciates culture, art and nature and needs a break from the hustle and bustle.
