Swanage is a small family-friendly beach town on the Island of Purbeck in Dorset, on the eastern end of the world-famous Jurassic Coast. The town is well-known for its annual jazz festival, held in July, and is also home to many stores, nice taverns, and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood. The picturesque Victorian wooden pier is a popular starting point for divers and a nice area to go for a stroll or try your hand at fishing. Swanage is the final stop of the Swanage Railway, a classic steam engine route that regularly takes passengers on a 6-mile excursion through gorgeous scenery to a stop just beyond the romantic ruins of Corfe Castle. Durlston Country Park is conveniently located nearby and makes for a delightful day trip with its breathtaking coastline walks, opportunities to sight dolphins and other animals, and well-equipped observation stations and cafe. Had a wonderful time there it was a lovely cottage and the owner was very helpful it would be helpful if there was a broom in the home just so we not need to take the hoover out

Spotlessly clean and a great location. Comfortable and very quiet. All important factors. The only mistakes made were ours - we hadn't realised there wasn't a WC upstairs. Nor did we realise there was no sitting out area or direct access to the garden in the photo. And we were blessed with great weather in October. But we recognise that this was OUR oversight and we'd had plenty of sunshine anyway!

Lovely property in a lovely village, very peaceful and it was a lovely place to come back to after a day out in the questionable weather! The bus stop outside the house is incredibly useful and means no wrestling witn parking etc. There's also a lovely small shop which is attached to the local pub which is great for your morning coffee (and cake!). We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.
