Guests say

East View Cottage in Swanage is highly praised for its charm, comfort, and dog-friendly amenities. Guests appreciate the quiet location, scenic walks, and thoughtful touches like dog treats. Some mention the lack of Wi-Fi and microwave, and the challenging parking for larger vehicles, but these are minor compared to the overall positive experience.

There is insufficient information in the reviews to accurately assess the cleanliness of the property.

The cottage's location is consistently lauded for its tranquility, proximity to walks and local attractions like Corfe Castle and Swanage. The scenic views and quiet medieval hamlet setting contribute to a highly positive experience.

Guests find the cottage spacious, warm, and well-equipped, contributing to a comfortable stay. The garden is noted for its privacy and quietness, and the property is considered homely. However, some guests suggest that the cottage might be less comfortable for larger groups.

The cottage is praised for being well-equipped and dog-friendly, with extra touches for pets. However, the lack of Wi-Fi and a microwave, as well as the need for a wildlife-proof bin and updated television, are noted drawbacks that affect the facilities score.

The reviews mention thoughtful gestures such as treats for dogs, a welcome basket, and a Christmas tree during the festive season. While these are appreciated, it is important to note that such gifts are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

This cottage is fantastic. The location is wonderful old world and lovely set in what was originally a medieval hamlet. There is parking outside the cottage but beware if you have a big car or estate its going to be tight. Our Suzuki Vitara was fine, but be warned there is some narrow 3 point turning if you drive to the house. There is ample other parking within 100 metres so it isn't a big deal. The interior of the cottage was wonderful and there were just the two of us. I think 4 would be fine as well but 5 or 6 would be a different ball park but still very doable. The kitchen etc was lovely as was everything. We were out walking the dogs when a couple asked us if we knew where East View cottage was as they were thinking of hiring it. We explained we were staying in it and highly recommended it as a great place to stay. The only downside is no WIFI, but I did have 3g and H + on my mobile signal so tethered our iPad to it so we could look up things to do, etc. I have marked down facilities and equipment only because there is no WIFI and personally I do think its needed and to be fair it wouldn't cost that much I am sure. Overall apart from that small moan it was a brilliant place to stay and we would, and probably will stay there again. Purbeck Island as we now know it is called is a magical and wonderful placer with many walks and beautiful places to visit.

A well equipped, spacious cottage in a very quiet location. Only 8 minutes from Corfe Castle and Swanage and surrounded by lots of walks. We opted to unload then park our car in another area of village. The parking space attached to the cottage is a good size however the surrounding stone walls are tight if you have a long car. The surrounding area has beautiful views and walks, our large 40 kg dog could get through the dog section of the local stiles. East View is superb for a stay with a dog.
