Nestled within 14 acres of tranquil surroundings in the breathtaking Ruby countryside, Springfield Meadows stands as an idyllic retreat on the outskirts of the charming village of Halwill Junction. This collection of six detached lodges offers the perfect setting for a fishing holiday or a serene lakeside getaway throughout the year. Primrose Lodge, Foxglove Lodge, and Bluebell Lodge, each accommodating four guests and refurbished by the owners in late 2019, are joined by the newly introduced Kingfisher Lodge, Fern Lodge, and Rose Lodge, each designed for six guests and available from 2022. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Ruby countryside, these lodges provide an excellent base for exploring both Devon and Cornwall.

The lodges are strategically positioned near three well-stocked fishing lakes, inviting guests to unwind with a few hours of fishing or savour a leisurely lunch on the private covered deck area with a good book in hand. The serene ambience of this location attracts a rich array of wildlife, offering glimpses of barn owls, buzzards, deer, foxes, badgers, and kingfishers. The nearby village of Halwill Junction features a convenient village shop for daily essentials, a delightful fish and chip shop, a church, a post office, and a village inn. A nature reserve with the Ruby Way cycle path adds to the local charm. For a broader range of amenities, Holsworthy, located 7 miles away, boasts local shops, supermarkets, a leisure centre, restaurants, takeaways, cafés, and a weekly market.

For those seeking outdoor adventures, Roadford Reservoir is a mere 20 minutes away, offering opportunities for sailing and scenic walks, accompanied by a charming lakeside café. Nearby attractions include Dingles Heritage Fairground, while the golden sands of Widemouth Bay and Bude, just 17 miles away, provide excellent surfing, picturesque coves, and dramatic coastal walking. Local activities such as horse riding, water sports, and golf add to the allure, and nature lovers will find Dartmoor National Park a captivating destination.

It was a very peaceful place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We wish we could have gone fishing while we were there but over all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The torch to help us see at night when walking the dog was a good touch. A map on the table when guest arrive explaining where everything is might be a good idea. Everything in the lodge worked fine and we never felt cold the whole time we were there. Thank you for a great Christmas stay.
