This lovely cottage converted from a hayloft above stables is situated in the peaceful hamlet of Water, just 400 yards from the pub in the Devon village of Manaton on the edge of Dartmoor. This is a relaxing country base for families or couples. Head from the parking area beyond the owners farmhouse down a gravelled path into a courtyard and step up to the front door to find yourself in a big tiled hall which is a useful space for storing your walking gear. From here, take the stairs up to the open plan living space, where you will want to gaze at the amazing views over fields to Black Hill. The hand built kitchen with dining area features at one end, whilst at the other end the leather sofas are comfortably positioned by a cosy wood burning stove. The three bedrooms are comfortable, all being en suite. Through the traditional Devon courtyard you will find your own enclosed private garden with a picnic bench to enjoy. Nine acres of gardens with pond and fields welcome you to wander, or head off along a half mile walk through woods to Lustleigh Cleave and the River Bovey. There is also stabling if you would like to bring your horses to ride. The Hayloft is a relaxing place to stay and immerse yourself in the freedom of peaceful Devon countryside and moorland.

Astrid was super helpful with tips for good walks. Can't fault our stay here at the Hayloft.

Owners were really helpful and friendly. Pub was very friendly and perfect distance away. Take a torch though! One of the best places we have stayed, love the practical touches, especially for wet coats and muddy boots in the less desirable weather. Light and spacious lounge area. Bovey Tracy is a great little town with local shops and arts and crafts centre which we used a lot.
Cecilia
Canât fault it at all and definitely recommend
