About this property

Pixie Cottage is a delightful character cottage on Clarence Hill. The Cottage is just a short walk from the shops, pubs and restaurants of the historic naval town of Dartmouth and within easy reach of the picturesque River Dart. Perfect for a couple or young family looking for quick and easy access to the town centre. The cottage has the benefit of a small terrace garden and river glimpses from the first floor. Blackpool Sands beach is a 5-10-minute drive whilst Woodlands Theme Park is just 3 miles outside of Dartmouth.

The entrance to the Cottage leads into a small lobby directly from Clarence Hill. Upstairs there are two well-presented bedrooms. The master bedroom has a leather- framed double bed and views over the terrace area at the rear of the property. The smaller second bedroom has twin beds and looks out to the front. Downstairs there is a cosy sitting area with comfortable leather sofas and Smart TV & Blueray / DVD player and wireless/ bluetooth speaker. There is also a feature fireplace with gas fire, for cosy winter evenings and a small wooden dining table and chairs. The living area leads into a cleverly designed well-equipped galley kitchen (with slightly sloping floors). Adjacent to the kitchen is a ground floor family shower room with large cubicle shower, w.c.and hand basin.

Guests have use of an annual car parking permit, for one car, which is for use in the Mayors Avenue public car park (subject to availability).

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the stunning Start Bay coastline, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many popular events such as the annual Dart Music Festival, Dartmouth Food Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta. This historic town boasts interesting landmarks, such as Dartmouth Castle, the Britannia Royal Naval College, and the National Trust’s Greenway House just a short ferry ride away. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through the rolling countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat or ferry trip across to Kingswear, on to Brixham, or down the river to the village of Dittisham. For those seeking sandy beaches, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular beaches just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.

Very clean and comfortable. Very well equipped with quality products and furnishings. I gasped when I saw how many hangers were in the wardrobe. The terrace was a wonderful bonus with fabulous views. Very close to the centre of Dartmouth literally 2 minutes walk. We used the parking permit with no issues finding a space at all times. If you were worried about parking away from the property don’t be the car was very safe and if you were tactical you could park at the end of the car park and see your car from the terrace. Would definitely visit again and recommend to family and friends.

Due to the design and size, a bit of a squeeze for 4 of us (two adults and two kids) for the whole week. But we managed ok. Having the bathroom downstairs wasn’t ideal but again, we managed. The cottage has everything you need and the terrace was welcomed as an added extra. The beds are super comfy, so we all slept well until the noisy seagulls woke us up every morning, which of course can’t be helped! Dartmouth is a great place, and some days we didn’t use the car as we could get to places by boat. Parking in the mayors car park with the permit went well, there was only one day we had to use the park and ride. Mostly, if you go out for the full day you can park fine when you return, but on this particular day we returned at lunch time and couldn’t get a space. There are so many places to visit (I’d recommend avoid Paignton though, it’s awful), great beaches, and nice places to eat in Dartmouth. My kids have become Rockfish obsessed! Thank you for our wonderful week away in Devon

Tucked away from, but 2 minutes walk to, the hustle and bustle of Dartmouth. The proximity to the M&S Food Hall and all the other lovely independent shops and galleries was fantastic, but the house was beautifully calm and quiet (apart from the seagulls!) We particularly loved the terrace off the kitchen which is a real bonus in a townhouse. The cottage was immaculate and delightfully decorated with everything you could possibly need. The parking permit was especially useful and even in mid July we had no problems finding a space every day.
