Guests say

5 Dartmouth House is a well-regarded holiday rental with guests praising its prime location, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped kitchen. The secure parking and proximity to Dartmouth's attractions are frequently mentioned benefits. While some guests experienced issues with maintenance and noise, the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

The property generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with several guests noting it was spotless upon arrival. However, a few reviews mentioned specific cleanliness issues such as a greasy grill pan and oven, and mould in the shower, slightly lowering the score.

The location is highly praised for its convenience and proximity to local amenities, the river, and the town centre. The secure parking is a significant plus. Traffic noise was a concern for some, but the central location is a clear highlight for most guests.

Guests find the property comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen and cosy furnishings. Some guests mentioned issues with mattresses and noise from traffic, which affects the overall comfort level. The lack of air flow in warmer weather was also noted.

Facilities are generally appreciated, especially the kitchen equipment. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as problems with the fridge, television, and bathroom fixtures. These recurring issues suggest room for improvement in this category.

While some guests mentioned receiving a Christmas hamper, there is not enough consistent information about thoughtful gestures or gifts to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for all stays.

Everything was spotless, instructions very clear. It is an ideal location for the Royal Naval College (we were visiting my son there). It seemed like it was a special place for the Owner, and we did our very best to respect it and all the memories there.

These are very nice apartments and well equipped. No. 5 is starting to look a little dated but was fine for our week’s stay. If being picky, we found it a little dark for our liking and it could be said that there’s too much unnecessary furniture. If the sofa was more into the middle of the room it would benefit from the natural light from the doors. We found the bed too be far too hard. Otherwise we appreciated the variety of kitchenware. One minor thing; the key fob did not operate the parking shutter. On checking with the local agent it appears this has been reported to owners and yet has not been resolved. It’s a pity because this was not a cheap accommodation. Overall though we enjoyed Dartmouth and our stay at 5 Dartmouth House.
