About this property

Quay Lodge is a stylish property, situated on a tranquil road below the historic Dartmouth Naval College, and overlooking Dart Marina. It makes an elegant base for a couple or family wanting a relaxing getaway in the South Hams.

From Sandquay Road, climb a flight of steps to reach Quay Lodge. The front door leads you to a hallway with an adjoining utility cupboard, hanging space and washing facilities.

The living accommodation consists of a modern, monochrome kitchen and a bright living space with lounge and dining areas. This living space also has the added benefit of sliding French doors that open out onto a furnished balcony. Sit out here in an evening and enjoy a crisp glass of wine, while taking in the views of the River Dart.

Quay Lodge has two bedrooms; the Master with a king-size bed and access to a small terrace, as well as a twin bedroom. The latter offers either twin beds or a double on request. There is a family bathroom with a bath and separate shower cubicle.

Outside of the property there are the two balcony areas previously mentioned, as well as a terrace with table and chairs. A great spot for dining al fresco on a summer afternoon.

A short walk from the property is Dartmouth town centre with its harbour, eateries and boutiques. Walk along the waterfront towards Dartmouth Castle and enjoy scenic views towards Kingswear and the sea. Paignton, Salcombe, Torquay and Totnes are all within driving distance. As is the fascinating Greenway Estate and all the attractions of the city of Plymouth.

Quay Lodge provides bright and stylish accommodation for families and couples wanting to enjoy South Devon.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the stunning Start Bay coastline, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many popular events such as the annual Dart Music Festival, Dartmouth Food Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta. This historic town boasts interesting landmarks, such as Dartmouth Castle, the Britannia Royal Naval College, and the National Trust’s Greenway House just a short ferry ride away. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through the rolling countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat or ferry trip across to Kingswear, on to Brixham, or down the river to the village of Dittisham. For those seeking sandy beaches, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular beaches just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.

Everything you could need was supplied and the facilities were good quality. The owner was very accommodating. This wasn’t our original booking but we were changed to this property at the last minute and we couldn’t have been happier.

We were unable to get into the property on the day we arrived & no one was in the office to answer our phone call although it was before 5pm. Fortunately a neighbour spotted our predicament & told us how to get in. (Turn the key clockwise in the top lock & anti clockwise in the bottom lock.) He knew this from 10 years of experience! Also the welcome pack was meagre; the packaging was worth more than the contents. But…..once we got in we had a great stay & would highly recommend the accommodation which was clean & comfortable. Every room is well furnished & has great views 9of the river. A perfect spot for your holiday!
