Guests say

Glenview is a well-loved cottage praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and excellent facilities. Nestled in a peaceful location, it offers a home away from home experience with thoughtful touches from the hosts. Its proximity to Lynton and Lynmouth and access to local walks make it an ideal base for exploring North Devon.

Reviewers consistently mention the immaculate condition of the property upon arrival, highlighting its spotlessness and well-kept nature.

The cottage's location is appreciated for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions, although some guests noted the busy road and the lack of easy walking access to nearby towns.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the property spacious, with several comments on the relaxing sound of the nearby brook contributing to a good night's sleep.

The property is well-equipped with everything needed for a holiday stay, including a well-appointed kitchen. However, a single mention of an oven needing replacement slightly impacts the score.

Many guests were delighted by the thoughtful gestures such as wine, milk, and homemade honey. While these gifts are warmly received, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

This refurbished detached house is situated in Barbrook above the road which leads to Lynton and Lynmouth. Facing lovely woodland around the River Lyn, it is friendly accommodation for families or adults to explore the area. You can either head up twenty steps from the parking area to your front door or use the level access from the road. Inside, through the hall, you will be greeted by the smart oak-floored sitting room with its French windows opening to a patio. The big kitchen is a lovely place to cook whilst you watch TV and then enjoy meals around the central table. Stairs lead up to the three welcoming bedrooms, one en suite and two with TVs. The lawned garden separates the house from the road, and you also have a big patio to one side for sitting peacefully sheltered by woods and flowers. This is wonderful walking, cycling and mountain biking country, or you can enjoy a ride from the local stables. A path by the river leads to a pub in a mile, or head to Lynton and Lynmouth for pubs and restaurants and a ride on the funicular railway. This is a homely and welcoming house for exploring the area at any time of year.

Set directly on the coast at the foot of the Exmoor hills, this charming village draws visitors from near and far. Quaint Lynmouth sits between the river, shore and hills and offers small restaurants, tea rooms and inns.

Cottage in a great location with Lynton and Lynmouth just a short distance away. We did some of our favourite walks, visited Valley of the rocks, watersmeet, Barnstaple and went on the cliff railway. Had some great meals out at the fox and goose, blue boar inn and the station. The cottage has everything you need to make your stay home from home. It is well equipped, comfortable and would recommend to anyone. Thankyou again for a wonderful week.

There is everything you need. We will be returning. One small improvement would be a small latch gate fitted at the top of the steps on the front garden. Considering this is advertised as dog friendly. An enclosed garden would be another tick in the box.

We will be booking again that’s for sure.
