The equally popular beaches of Croyde and Woolacombe are within 7 miles. For a day out closer to home, hire some bikes in the village and cycle the traffic-free Tarka Trail along the River Taw all the way to Barnstaple (6 miles) which has a larger selection of high-street shops and places to eat.
