This rural village, Uffculme, which can be found to the east of Exeter in the verdant countryside, offers a welcome respite from the rigours of modern existence. It is the ideal starting point for exploring the region's various attractions because it is almost halfway between Dartmoor and Exmoor and only a drive away from Exmouth and the stunning South Devon coast. The surrounding area is characterised by footpaths, fields, and an abundance of animals. Several National Trust stately homes and gardens are nearby, and Exeter, a cathedral city, is only 18 miles distant.

The kitchen is well equipped. The rating is five stars and four ticks which is disappointing as the property smells musty. The humidity is 70% in the lounge and 80% in the bedroom so it is not surprising that there is mildew in four places in the lounge and in one corner of the bedroom. The wall is very damp by the dining table. The parking was fine. There is still no instruction booklet in the cottage so it was necessary to message the owner for instructions about the heating. It is a lovely little property but there are dampness issues.
