Nearby, the market town of Honiton offers a range of independent shops, pubs, and restaurants, and the cathedral city of Exeter an fabulous selection of shops and eateries. Foodies will also be in their element with salubrious Lympstone Manor, the floating River Exe Cafe and the town of Axminster, home to River Cottage, where the owner and celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall runs a programme of interesting cookery courses, all within easy reach.
