This idyllic, dog-friendly thatched cottage benefits from a fantastic rural location, off-road parking for three cars, an enclosed garden with hot tub and furniture and four well-appointed bedrooms: perfect for families, friends or couples looking to explore the wonders of Devon. Cross the threshold and head straight into the sitting room where you can warm your feet by the crackling woodburning stove after a day full of exploration before heading to the fully-equipped kitchen to rustle up hearty meals for the whole family which you can enjoy around the dining table or alfresco, outside on the patio. Later enjoy a soothing soak in the bubbling hot tub as the stars begin to fill the sky before venturing into the ground-floor bathroom to wash off the day’s adventures. When sleep calls, choose from four thoughtfully presented bedrooms to catch up on your rest, there is a king-size and single completing the ground-floor and a double and twin completing the second. If you can tear yourself away from this tranquil dwelling head into the nearby market town of Crediton where you can stock up on essentials at the local supermarkets before enjoying a much-needed break from the kitchen at pubs including The Three Little Pigs or The Red Deer. The surrounding countryside has history woven throughout; tour the National Trust sites of Killerton, an elegant house with manicured gardens, Clyston Mill, a working Victorian flour mill overlooking the river or the Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life. Exeter lies nearby and houses a myriad of attractions including Northernhay Gardens, Belmont Park, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and the unique network of underground, vaulted passageways under the city. Experience all this and more at Posbury Lodge.

Located in "Red Devon," an area of Devon famed for its characteristic red soil, which is of great agricultural quality and good for growing swedes, and 8.5 miles north-west of Exeter, the cathedral city. There are numerous settlements spread out across the landscape, each with a cosy inn, a fully stocked general store, and hospitable locals. Additional pluses are the pool table and hot tub, a great addition which were well used and enjoyed. A proper chocolate box cottage...just stunning. A very comfortable stay for our family.

The children loved their Christmas stockings, such a lovely thought. The cottage is amazing. Loved the experience of using the Aga! We had a great Christmas, a few great walks with our granddaughter. The birds in the hedges were amazing and the owl! (I think in the stables). Everything we needed was provided. The only advice I would give is to get an additional shower head on the bath. As a family of 7 we did struggle a bit with the bathroom.

Well maintained and fitted out with care and attention to all details. Log burner with logs. Especially nice was the Christmas tree and decorations which made our stay more special. Beautiful chocolates and welcome pack left for us. As wet and muddy games room and hot tub were great. Thanks
