About this property

Nestling in an idyllic rural location near Seaton in Devon, is this traditional cottage, The Grockles Hide. Suitable for small families or a couple, the cottage boasts spectacular views over open countryside making it a truly relaxing place to stay.

Inside, the accommodation is well-presented and has everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable and restful holiday. Inside, the sitting room has ample seating and is an inviting space in which to sit and read a book or watch TV. Leading off from here is the well-fitted kitchen/diner which has all the facilities you’d need for rustling up some delicious fayre for your family as well as comfortable dining area to sit and dine enjoying each other’s company. If the sun is shining (which it does a lot in Devon!) then why not head outside to the patio garden at the rear and indulge in some alfresco eating and drinking? When it’s time for bed, make your way to one of the three well-presented bedrooms, a double or two singles, again enjoying the delightful rural views.

The beauty of The Grockles Hide is its location just a short walk from the picturesque town of Seaton which has a mile long pebble beach, shops, tea rooms and restaurants as well as some delightful walks to Undercliff Nature Reserve and Seaton Wetlands Nature Reserve. Jump in the car for a short but scenic drive to any one of a number of fantastic local attractions such as the historic town of Colyton, Beer Quarry Caves, Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary and Abbey Forde and Gardens. Check out the fabulous beaches of Charmouth, Lyme Regis, Weymouth and Seatown where you can relax and have a picnic, try your hand at fossil hunting or indulge in some adrenaline-fuelled activities like rib rides, kayaking and paddle boarding. For the ultimate family holiday hideaway, check out The Grockles Hide.

Seaton is a seaside town in East Devon on the south coast. It faces onto Lyme Bay, to the west of the mouth of the River Axe with red cliffs to one side and white cliffs on the other. Axmouth and Beer are nearby. A sea wall provides access to the mostly shingle beach stretching for about a mile, and a small harbour. Seaton is on the stretch of Devon coastline, known as the Jurassic Coast, a designated World Heritage Site, and the town offers a good range of shops, friendly cafes, restaurants and pubs.
