Awaken to an itinerary brimming with nature-filled attractions, including treks across the national forest of Castle Neroche, visits to The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth and Sharandys Birds of Prey, all recommended for those who favour the outdoors. Head into the market town of Honiton, famous for lace and pottery and being regarded as the antiques capital of the South West. Take a trip to Otterton Mill which is a working water mill with bakery, farm shop and café serving afternoon tea, and vineyard tours at Heron Farm (the owners do also supply their wine at The Bull Pen) or Dalwood Vineyard which also do tours and tasting, and Sheppy’s cider farm. You could also take a visit to Otter Valley Dairy which is 6 miles away which is famous for their huge selection of homemade ice-creams, wood fired pizzas and stunning views across the valley. Travelling through East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stop off at the picturesque Lyme Regis on the Jurassic Coast for fossil hunting, beaches and stunning walks along the South West Coast Path, before returning to The Bull Pen for sundowners. Situated in the heart of the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Devon/Somerset border, lies the village of Upottery, just 8 miles from Honiton.
