The unspoilt Axe estuary is also nearby with its bird and nature reserve and provides some lovely walking opportunities. The market town of Axminster has shops, inns, restaurants, a sports centre, weekly market, and the famous River Cottage Café and Shop. Other attractions in the area include Abbotsbury, Crealy, Bicton Park, Burrows Farm Gardens and a selection of National Trust properties including Killerton and Knightshayes Court.
